Since its inception in 2004, it seems that Facebook has been really built for the old generation. The newer websites like Plurk aren’t really “oldie friendly”- because the approach to networking is just too different from the friendly and “traditional” means provided by Facebook.
For those older than thirty, Facebook isn’t really about meeting new friends- it’s about keeping business networks intact, and remembering friend’s electronic mail addresses. In fact, Facebook has become so indispensable to the older generation that people who have been on this network don’t usually look for other things to work with; like Twitter.
